Introduction

  • Koshi Health institute was established as a wing of Nepal Health Development and Research Cooperative Organization (NHDRC) established under the district co-operative office Morang in pursuant to section 5 of Nepal co-operative Act 2048 in 2054 BS.
  • NHDRC was established for delivery of quality health services via trained and skilled manpower and conducting operational research on health care delivery to assure quality as well as need based health services, health practice and partnering with the community to disseminate and apply new knowledge.
  • To fulfill this vision, NHDRC has two wings viz Koshi Health Institute and 100 bedded Morang Co-operative Hospital.
  • KHI has been producing quality manpower of mid-level health workers such as PCL General Medicine (HA), Diploma in pharmacy (DPH) and Certificate of Medical laboratory technician (CMLT) program affiliated to Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) and recognized by Nepal Health Professional Council (NHPC) and Nepal Pharmacy Council (NPC),
  • Previously this institute was running 18 months pre-diploma programs namely ANM, CMA and Lab Assistant, which has been phased out by government in FY 2076/77. Among those Lab assistant program upgraded to CMLT. CMA and ANM Program are in process of up gradation to Diploma in physiotherapy and PCL Nursing respectively.
